Dear SAIS Parents and Community,

It has been so wonderful to welcome all of our students in all grades back to campus! We so missed seeing the smiling, happy faces of our children over the last few months. We are also looking forward to our very first virtual Exhibition of Learning and the opportunity to see the projects our students have been working on this semester, both on line and in person.

In this update, we will share information about the Exhibition, our upcoming Summer Extension, report cards and narratives, and some safety reminders.

Exhibition of Learning (EOL)

At 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9th, we will host our very first virtual Exhibition of Learning! As most of you know, our EOLs are an opportunity for students to share and celebrate their learning. This EOL will have three components:

  1. 1:00-2:30 pm: a presentation from all of our classes
  2. 2:30-3:00 or 3:30 pm: live presentations in individual classrooms
  3. A virtual gallery on the website where our students’ work will be displayed

For current parents, please make sure you have your student’s Microsoft Teams login and password information so that you can attend the presentations and visit individual classrooms. For prospective parents and guests, there will be a registration link on the szsais.org.cn website so that you can get a temporary Teams email and password. We look forward to seeing you online at our EOL!

Summer Extension

Many of you have registered for the summer extension, which will take place from June 15th through July 10th. For those of you who haven’t yet registered but plan to, please do so quickly. We need to plan our staffing accordingly and the numbers of registrants will impact the number of teachers we need. If you do not register your child by Friday, we cannot guarantee that he/she will be able to attend.

Tuition Deadline

Reminder that the tuition deadline for current ELE and K families is this Thursday, June 4th.

Safety Protocols and Reminders

Please remember to pick up your children on time. Especially with our new safety guidelines, we can no longer have students together across grades gathered in the same spaces and we cannot provide supervision in the classrooms after hours.

Also, a reminder that we can only meet with parents by appointment and in groups of two max.

Thank you for all that you have done to ensure that our reopening was a success and looking forward to “seeing” you online for our EOL soon!

In Community,

SAIS Leadership Team
